Kill Critic

Silence the voice that kills your best work before it ships.

Your inner critic isn't protecting you from bad work — it's protecting you from being judged. And in marketing, unshipped work is the only work that's guaranteed to fail. A reel that never goes live has a 0% chance of going viral. A landing page that's 'still being polished' generates zero leads. A founder who reviews every post personally becomes the bottleneck that strangles their own brand. This column is about putting that critic down — humanely, and permanently — so you can ship at the cadence the algorithm actually rewards.

Where the critic actually comes from

Most creative blocks in founders and marketing teams aren't taste problems. They're identity problems. You're not avoiding the post because it's bad — you're avoiding it because if it flops, you'll feel exposed. We untangle this with three questions you can ask yourself before any piece goes live: Who exactly is this for? What does success look like in numbers? And what is the worst realistic outcome if I post it? Nine times out of ten the worst case is 'a few people don't engage' — which is not, in fact, the end of your career.

Ship-or-die rituals from our studio

Our team publishes 40+ pieces a week across client accounts. We don't have superhuman taste. We have rituals. A 25-minute writing timer that stops perfectionism dead. A single named reviewer per piece (not a committee — committees kill content). A hard 'good enough is shipped' rule that overrides every late-stage hesitation. A weekly retro where we look at what shipped, what worked and what we'd do again — never at what we 'could have made better'. We publish the full ritual checklist, the Notion template, and the exact phrasing to use when a founder wants to revise a post for the eighth time.

Critic vs. coach — the rewriting framework

Killing the critic doesn't mean becoming a delusional yes-person who praises every draft. The goal is to convert the destructive critic into a productive coach. The destructive critic says 'this is bad'. The coach says 'this works, except for one specific thing — here's the fix'. We give you the three-line review template our team uses: one thing this piece does well, one thing to change before shipping, and one thing to try differently next time. It's brutal in the right places and gentle everywhere else, and it gets work out the door at twice the speed.

What changes when you ship at speed

Founders who adopt this approach see three things shift within 30 days. Posting cadence doubles, sometimes triples. The team stops dreading reviews because feedback is bounded and useful. And — counterintuitively — quality goes up, not down, because you're now learning from real audience data instead of imagined audience reactions. We walk through two anonymised Indore case studies where the only thing that changed was the review process, and revenue moved as a direct result.

किल क्रिटिक — अंदर के क्रिटिक को चुप कराओ

जो आवाज़ आपके best काम को publish होने से पहले मार देती है।

आपका inner critic आपको bad work से नहीं — judgement से बचाता है। और marketing में unshipped work guaranteed failure है। जो reel कभी live नहीं हुई, viral होने का 0% chance है। हर post personally review करने वाला founder अपने ही brand का bottleneck बन जाता है। हम अपने studio में हर हफ्ते 40+ pieces publish करते हैं — रहस्य है rituals: 25-min writing timer, एक named reviewer (committee नहीं), 'good enough is shipped' rule, और weekly retro। 30 दिन में posting cadence दोगुनी हो जाती है और counterintuitively quality बढ़ती है।
